Risk of PrEP resistance: If PrEP is used without a diagnosis of HIV-1 infection, resistance variants have been found. Individuals who acquire HIV-1 must immediately transition to a complete treatment regimen.

Immune reconstitution syndrome: Patients treated may require further evaluation and treatment.

Long-lasting properties: Residual drug concentrations can remain in the systemic circulation for up to 12 months or more. Within 9 months of the last injection, other medications metabolized by CYP3A may increase exposure and risk of adverse reactions.

Injection site reactions: Local reactions (e.g. persistence of nodules and hard masses) may occur. Intradermal miscarriage can lead to severe reactions (such as necrosis or ulcers).

The most common adverse reactions (incidence ≥ 5%) in clinical trials were injection site reactions, headache, and nausea.
【Drug interactions】

CYP3A inducer: Strong or moderate CYP3A inducer can significantly reduce the plasma concentration of this product. Prohibited with potent, not recommended with moderate. (If it must be used together, the dose needs to be adjusted).

Combination inhibitors: P-gp, UGT1A1 and potent CYP3A combination inhibitors can increase the concentration of this product and are not recommended for combined use.
