Contraindications

• Hepatotoxicity: Fatal hepatotoxicity occurred in 0.1% of patients. Regular liver function tests are performed for monitoring. Temporarily discontinue, reduce dose, or permanently discontinue Lucicriz.
• Interstitial lung disease (ILD)/pneumonia: occurs in 2.9% of patients. Permanently discontinue in patients with ILD/pneumonia.
• Prolonged QT interval: 2.1% of patients. Monitor the electrocardiogram and electrolytes of patients with a history of QTc prolongation or who are susceptible to QTc prolongation or who are taking drugs that prolong QT. Temporarily discontinue, reduce dose, or permanently discontinue Lucicriz.
• Bradycardia: Lucicriz can cause bradycardia. Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly. Temporarily discontinue, reduce dose, or permanently discontinue Lucicriz.
• Severe vision loss: 0.2% of patients reported this symptom. Lucicriz should be discontinued for patients with severe vision loss. Perform an ophthalmic assessment.
• Embryo-fetal toxicity: May cause harm to the fetus. Women of childbearing potential are advised to be aware of the potential risks to the fetus and to use effective contraception.

Medication risks

The most common adverse reactions (≥ 25%) are visual impairment, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, edema, constipation, elevated transaminases, fatigue, decreased appetite, upper respiratory tract infections, dizziness, and neuropathy.
