Contraindications

Warnings and Precautions
• LuciPem can cause detachment of the retinal pigment epithelium. Eye examinations, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), before starting treatment, every 2 months for 6 months before treatment, and every 3 months thereafter, and emergency examinations whenever visual symptoms appear.
• Hyperphosphatemia: Elevated phosphate levels are pharmacodynamic effects of LuciPem. Hyperphosphatemia is monitored and interrupted, dose reduced, or permanently discontinued depending on the duration and severity of hyperphosphatemia.
• Embryo-fetal toxicity: can cause fetal harm. Inform fertile patients of the potential risks to the fetus and use effective contraception.

Medication risks

Adverse Reactions
The most common adverse reactions (incidence ≥ 20%) are hyperphosphatemia, alopecia, diarrhea, nail toxicity, fatigue, taste disorders, nausea, constipation, stomatitis, dry eyes, dry mouth, decreased appetite, vomiting, joint pain, abdominal pain, hypophosphatemia, back pain, and dry skin.
