Contraindications

Warnings and Precautions
• Risk of adverse reactions or reduced efficacy due to drug interactions: LuciLeter may have potentially significant drug interactions with certain medications, some of which may result in adverse reactions (LuciLeter or concomitant medications) or reduced efficacy of LuciLeter or concomitant medications. See full prescribing information for contraindications and dosage recommendations for concomitant medications.
• Risks associated with hydroxypropyl beta glucoside excipients in intravenous preparations: LuciLeter intravenous preparations contain hydroxypropyl beta glucoside excipients. LuciLeter injection should only be given to patients who cannot be treated orally. If possible, intravenous administration should not exceed 4 weeks. Accumulation of hydroxypropyl beta glucoside may occur in patients with renal insufficiency. Animal studies have shown that hydroxypropyl beta glucoside may cause ototoxicity.

Medication risks

Adverse Reactions
• Patients with adult hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT): The most common adverse events (occurring in at least 10% of subjects in the LuciLeter group and occurring at least 2% more frequently than in the placebo group) are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, peripheral edema, cough, headache, fatigue, and abdominal pain.
• Adult renal transplant patients: the most common adverse event (occurring in at least 10% of subjects in the LuciLeter group, with a higher incidence than in the valganciclovir group) is diarrhea.
• Pediatric patients: Adverse events in pediatric patients are similar to those in adults.
