Medication risks

Endothelin receptor antagonists (ERAs) can lead to hepatotoxicity and liver failure. Serum transaminase levels and total bilirubin are measured prior to initiation of treatment and are reviewed periodically during treatment and as clinically indicated.
Monitor for signs and symptoms of fluid retention, weight gain, and worsening heart failure. In case of clinically significant fluid retention, appropriate treatment should be given and consideration should be given to discontinuing this product.
